WASHINGTON – ZGS Communications announced the launch of WZTD Telemundo Richmond, the only local Spanish-language television broadcast station in the market. ZGS is the largest independent owner and operator of television stations affiliated with the Telemundo network, and the addition of WZTD will increase the number of stations it operates to 13, further expanding its presence in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Nicole Quiroga is the Station Manager and Carolina Rinck is the Director of Sales and Marketing. “We are delighted to bring Telemundo to Richmond,” commented Nicole Quiroga. “It is a vibrant market with a diverse and rapidly growing Hispanic population. We look forward to getting involved at the local level, and are committed to serving our viewership.”
WZTD Telemundo Richmond fills a void in local Spanish-language television providing Hispanics in the area with culturally relevant and local programming. It also gives local businesses and organizations the opportunity to share information and services with the community. WZTD will become the first station in history to broadcast the Inauguration of Virginia’s Governor live from the State Capitol in Spanish on January 16, 2010.
