The Hispanicize-Univision Latino Social Media for Social Good provided Training to Nonprofit Organizations serving Hispanic Communities

Univision Communications, the leading media company serving Hispanic America, recently furthered its efforts to empower communities through the “Latino Social Media for Social Good” program, an initiative created in partnership with Hispanicize. With dozens of attendees present at each session, the program provided free social media and communications trainings to more than 150 organizations across Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Antonio, San Diego and Washington, D.C. The workshops also provided exclusive access to Univision’s award-winning local news teams, where news directors shared critical media relations information with the attendees.

“We are proud to have partnered with Hispanicize on ‘Latino Social Media for Social’ to empower and give nonprofits critical information, exclusive access to our local news team and insight to best practices on social initiatives,” said Ivelisse Estrada, vice president of Corporate & Community Relations, Univision Communications.  “The program provided a unique opportunity to help further the efforts of nonprofit organizations that diligently serve our community with issues across the board.”

“Producing this program has been very rewarding because its impact is seen almost immediately,” said Cristy Clavijo-Kish, CEO of Hispanicize Digital. “It’s amazing to see with just a few hours of our training we were able to consistently introduce non-profit leaders to new cost-effective media strategies to help them better communicate their missions serving Latino communities. The initiative has become one of our hallmark programs that we certainly will continue into 2012.”
