The Univision Network announced that it closed the February sweep period as the No. 3 broadcast network during primetime, a first in any February sweep period, out-performing ABC and CBS by 6% and 19%, respectively, with over half a million Adults 18-34 (666,000). The February 2014 sweep also marks the first time that Univision finishes ahead of both ABC and CBS in any February sweep period with Adults 18-34 in primetime.

In the February 2014 sweep, Univision delivered an average audience of 1.4 million Adults 18-49 and 2.9 million Total Viewers 2+, finishing as the No. 5 broadcast network during primetime. Univision also out-delivered at least one or more of the English-language broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC or FOX) on six out of seven nights among Adults 18-34 and on three out of four nights among Adults 18-49.

With an estimated median age of 38 years old, Univision continues to deliver the youngest viewers during primetime versus the English-language broadcast networks: ABC (53 years old), CBS (59 years old), NBC (55 years old) and FOX (47 years old).

ADDITIONAL NETWORK HIGHLIGHTS:

Univision Network’s Monday to Friday 9 p.m. novela, “Lo Que La Vida Me Robo” (What Life Took From Me) delivered more Adult 18-49 and Adult 18-34 viewers than many of the regularly-scheduled primetime programs on English-language television including:

LOCAL MARKET HIGHLIGHTS:

During the February 2014 sweep period, KMEX Univision 34 in Los Angeles and WXTV Univision 41 in New York were the No. 1 and No. 2 most watched early local newscasts in the country, regardless of language, among Adults 18-49. With Adults 18-49, WXTV Univision 41 in New York was the No. 1 most watched late local newscast in the country, regardless of language.

Additionally, Univision was the No. 1 broadcast station in primetime in Houston among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, and was the No. 2 broadcast station in primetime, behind NBC with the Olympics, outperforming the ABC, CBS and FOX stations in the following markets among:

  • Total Viewers 2+ in Los Angeles, Miami and Houston
  • Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles
  • Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles and Sacramento

In Total Day, (Monday to Sunday, from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.), during the February 2014 sweep, Univision ranked as the No. 1 broadcast station among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 in Houston, and the No. 2 broadcast station in total day viewing, behind NBC with the Olympics, outperforming the ABC, CBS and FOX stations in the following markets among:

  • Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles
  • Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles and Dallas

In Early Evening Local News, Univision stations delivered the No. 1 6 p.m. (5 p.m. Central/Mountain) newscast, regardless of language, in the following markets among:

  • Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco and Phoenix
  • Adults 25-54 in Los Angeles and Miami

In Late News, Univision stations delivered the No. 1 newscast, regardless of language, in the following markets* among:

  • Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Dallas and Phoenix
  • Adults 25-54 in Los Angeles and Houston
