As part of the U.S. Army’s ongoing commitment to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education, the Army is sponsoring the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) national conference, Oct. 30-Nov. 2 in Indianapolis, Ind. Through this partnership, the Army will work with SHPE to students are fully aware of the resources available them to pursue their STEM-related interests and goals.

It is important to bridge the gap between this nation’s fast-growing Hispanic youth population and the ever-expanding need for STEM-educated professionals. SHPE is a leading social-technical organization that empowers students to realize their academic and professional potential through STEM awareness, access to higher education and professional development.  The Army’s partnership with SHPE provides a platform to showcase the Army’s more than 40 free education programs designed to enhance learning, including March2Success, a free online tool that prepares students for standardized tests.

During the SHPE national conference, Army representatives will host an interactive exhibits, conduct a workshop for young professionals focused on developing personal leadership skills, and provide information on scholarship opportunities and college tuition assistance.
