Maya Publishing Group LLC., the publisher in the U.S. Hispanic Market of TVnotas USA, H para Hombres and H Extremo, has promoted former deputy editor Jusmir Gonzalez to Editorial Director. In her new role at TVnotas USA magazine, Gonzalez will be responsible for leading the new phase of the magazine which will undertake editorial changes for the U.S. Hispanic Market.
Gonzalez, who has over 22 years of experience in the print media, initiated her journalism career in her native country, Venezuela. She wrote for prestigious media such as Bloque de Armas and El Nacional, a daily newspaper, and interviewed both important celebrities and ex-presidents of Venezuela.
In 1996, she emigrated to the United States, where she continued her journalism career, first as reporter at Editorial Televisa and later as Editorial Director of  TVyNovelas USA magazine. In 2003, she joined the executive team of the multicultural advertising agency Alturas Communication, where she stood out as Executive for the Spanish Content and acquired a vast experience in the U.S. Hispanic audience. After a brief professional recess due to the birth of her second child she returned in 2004 to showbiz journalism, serving as Deputy Director for TVnotas USA.
On the new editorial policy of the magazine Gonzalez said: “We want to take a line aimed at highlighting the positive aspects of our celebrities, but TVnotas USA will maintain its essence as the independent entertainment magazine, which has allowed us to be the only one that can ‘say it all’ because we are not married to any television or interest of any kind. But that independence is exercised in full responsibility, as has been our standard since the beginning of TVnotas USA. Our readers will have the assurance that if we publish something, it is because we have evidence of the facts, nothing more and nothing less.”
