In February, the Buick Division of General Motors donated a 2012 Buick Verano, the brand’s newest luxury sedan, to the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI) to help raise funds for the organization. The GM vehicle donation was announced at a press conference held during the 30th USHLI National Conference. Over the last six months, USHLI conducted a nationwide raffle of the Buick Verano to reach its goal of raising $100,000 to help fund the Chicago-based nonprofit as it pursues its mission of developing Hispanic leaders.

The USHLI fundraiser came to a conclusion during the organization’s Annual Dinner held earlier this month in Chicago. Chris Ayotte, Buick National Promotions Manager was on hand to present the Buick Verano to the lucky winner, José Ruano, MillerCoors Multicultural Relations Manager and proud supporter of the organization.

Ayotte congratulated USHLI for its work promoting opportunities for Hispanic education and leadership and reinforced the company’s commitment to the Latino community. “At Buick, we see education as a priority and share your commitment to encourage students who are driving positive change in their communities. We want to participate in preparing the next generation of Hispanic leaders.”

General Motors also supports the USHLI 2012 Student Leadership Series. The series consists of 7 regional leadership development conferences and 18 career/college recruitment fairs around the country which impact an estimated 40,000 high school and college students representing over 30 states.
