The LULAC 19th Annual Legislative Conference and Awards Gala celebrates 87 years of legislative service to the Hispanic community

Each year, LULAC members from across the country travel to Washington, D.C. in order to participate in the LULAC Annual Legislative Conference and Awards Gala. The LULAC Legislative Conference will include a day of workshops open to the public. Details are provided below. At this year’s Awards Gala, U.S. Senator from Massachusetts Elizabeth Warren and U.S. Senator from Texas John Cornyn will receive the Legislative Award. In addition, the Advocacy Award will be presented to Mr. Julio Pabón, Sports Commentator and Community Advocate.

In addition, Grammy Award winners, La Santa Cecilia will be performing hits from their new album Buenaventura and will be available for interviews.

The legislative conference includes panel discussions where issue experts will discuss the need to strengthen the Affordable Care Act and ensure accountability for Latino students’ success. In addition, the policy summit will address the need for comprehensive immigration reform, supporting President Obama’s administrative actions, ending the detention of vulnerable populations, and repealing the 34,000 bed quota rider from appropriation bills.
