The Hispanic Leadership Network (HLN) today announced that Texas Governor Rick Perry and Congressman Francisco “Quico” Canseco will deliver remarks at its “Small Business Invitational: Examining ObamaCare’s Impact on the Health of Your Business.” The invitational will be held Saturday, July 28, 2012, at the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel in San Antonio, Texas.
“We are thrilled that Governor Perry and Congressman Canseco will join us in our summit. There is no better stage for a small business-focused event than Texas, a state that is home to a total 2.2 million small businesses, including 447,486 owned by Latinos. Texas’ small businesses make up 98 percent of the state’s employers. As such, they understand better than anyone else what is at stake in strengthening our economy,” said HLN Executive Director Jennifer Sevilla Korn.
The day’s events will kick off with a roundtable with Congressman Canseco, followed by a business expo and networking session. An advocacy panel discussion will focus on the impact of ObamaCare on small businesses, and ways in which Hispanic advocates can make a difference. Remarks by both Governor Perry and Congressman Canseco will highlight Texas’ economic outlook and the growing Hispanic workforce.
“Texas’ business climate is second to none because our economic policies have kept our state wide open for business. I am proud to address the small business owners who are making a real difference for countless families, and who are responsible for keeping Texas at the forefront of the national economy,” said Governor Perry.
“I am honored to participate in an event with Hispanic entrepreneurs to discuss how we can work together to train the workforce of the future and make sure their dreams become a reality,” said Congressman Canseco.
