BELLEVUE, Wash. — On the day of the opening World Cup match, more than 9,000 Mexican National Team fans attended the public viewing party at Plaza Mexico in Lynwood, Calif., hosted by T-Mobile USA, Inc. The event featured three jumbo high definition screens placed throughout the plaza, live music and entertainment, games, prizes, giveaways and complimentary food and refreshments. In addition, T-Mobile customers received access to a VIP viewing area during the telecast of the game on Univision’s high definition broadcast.
“Soccer is the most popular sport in the world,” said Mark Stockdale, director of Hispanic marketing for T-Mobile USA. “This year’s opening match provided the perfect opportunity for T-Mobile to give Southern California Mexican National Team soccer enthusiasts and their families the chance to experience the action, while cheering alongside thousands of fellow fans.”
