South Windsor-based Ticketing Company to Donate 15% of Profits Toward Helping Nicaraguan Village
SuperBoletería has become a corporate sponsor of the Yale Alumni Service Corps trip to Nicaragua in March 2012. SuperBoletería’s corporate donation will directly benefit a community in Nicaragua that will be aided by the Service Corps.
During the first week in December, SuperBoletería will donate 15% of its profits to the Yale Alumni Service Corps. In mid-March, sixty volunteers from the Yale Alumni Service Corps (YASC) along with the Council of Protestant Churches of Nicaragua (CEPAD) will travel to the small remote village of El Castillo in Matagalpa, Nicaragua to build homes, provide medical care, improve educational opportunities, and install water filters in the community.
“The donation we are giving to the Yale Alumni Service Corps will directly enhance the lives of El Castillo’s residents in countless ways,” said Crystal Astrachan, business development manager, SuperBoletería, who is also a board member of the Yale Alumni Service Corps and will travel to Nicaragua in March with the group. “These efforts will be invaluable to the locals as this will ensure safe drinking water and will improve the health and lives of hundreds of people. Customers can make a difference by simply purchasing their event tickets at SuperBoleteria.com,” added Astrachan.
Yale Alumni Service Corps volunteers are committed to service, education, community-building and working as agents of change throughout the world. The YASC supports local communities by developing and enhancing self-sustaining programs that provide solutions to unique problems of poverty, public health, education, and health care. Volunteers, including alumni, students, family, and friends, learn and benefit from cross-cultural encounters that enrich their understanding of others and of themselves.
