Western & Southern LifeThe Western and Southern Life Insurance Company (Western & Southern Life) has expanded the content of its award-winning Spanish language site with the addition of financial calculators.

The website contains online educational tools that prepare consumers for several key life events. The Spanish language calculators now available on the site assist consumers with planning finances associated with these life events:

  • College
  • New job or first job
  • Getting married
  • Having a baby
  • Starting a business
  • Buying a house/mortgage
  • Retirement
  • Social Security
  • Estate Planning
  • Being on your own

“There is a real need among Spanish-speaking consumers to better understand the impact of life events on their finances. Having access to calculators in their language designed for events such as buying a house or saving for college will help in planning a secure financial future,” explained David Hufnagel, Western & Southern Life’s director of multicultural markets and a native of Argentina. “Few other insurance companies offer Spanish language calculators on their websites. Adding them to our website enables us to provide a higher level of service for our Spanish-speaking customers.”

Western & Southern Life’s Spanish language website gained international recognition with a 2010 award from Summit International Awards in the Emerging Media competition.

The calculators are found under the “Educación” tab at www.wslife.com/es. The site also explains the basics of life insurance, annuities and other financial products. Users can share the site with friends via the “Compartir” option.
