Sherwin-Williams will honor Latinos during Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 — October 15, by featuring colors inspired by Hispanic culture and the flags of Latin America with its Color Latino celebration. Sherwin-Williams’ color selection tool, Chip It! will be used to identify paint colors that correspond to the vibrant images of Hispanic culture. Personal stories from Hispanic customers garnered from social media will also reveal the importance of color as an important cultural element that shapes our world.
“Color permeates our lives and plays an important role in how we perceive our environment,” says Dr. Helen Tronosco, CEO & Founder of Reinventing You, Ms. New York America 2012 and former Ms. New York Belleza Latina 2011. “It influences our memories and helps us recall important events. Sherwin-Williams’ Color Latino is a great way for all of us to remember our roots, as well as the people and places of Latin America that continue to shape our vibrant communities.”
“Color is an important part of every culture and provides context when you consider materials available at each point in history,” says Jackie Jordan, Director of Color Marketing, Sherwin-Williams. “Hispanics across the globe draw color inspiration from their ancestors, families and traditions. These rich histories come to life and run the gamut from brilliant, bold colors to softer, subtle hues. The design and color contributions of Hispanics make the world around us a more beautiful place to live, work, and play.”
