The Latin American Music Awards are affiliated with the long-running American Music Awards, which have been honoring the most popular artists in the United States for the past 41 years.
This ceremony’s inaugural edition will take place October 8 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. It will be televised by Telemundo, who is producing it in conjunction with Dick Clark Productions.
Nominations for the awards are based on fan interactions with music, including sales, airplay, streaming, and social activity. Billboard monitors these aspects to announce the nominees, but the fans will decide with their votes which artists will receive their Latin American Music Award. The voting process, which started today, can be accessed via www.latinamas.com.
