New York PR Agency Continues to Grow Sports and Entertainment Division
M&C Saatchi PR New York announces Richard Barker as Vice President to oversee its Sports and Entertainment offering. M&C Saatchi PR recently was named agency of record for the United States Olympic Committee. Richard joins the New York team from M&C Saatchi Sport and Entertainment in London, where he spent three years managing sponsorship and PR activation for some of the leading properties, governing bodies and brands in sports. In his new role, he will direct the agency’s key sports and entertainment accounts, with a focus on developing the division.
“We are very excited to have someone of Richard’s talent join us,” said Sandra Carreon-John, Senior Vice President, M&C Saatchi PR. “He brings a wealth of creativity and knowledge to an already thriving sports division. Richard’s experience working with major brands globally is a great asset for our group and we are thrilled to have him leading our team.”
During his time at M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment, Barker managed key accounts such as Reebok, looking after global PR for the brand, including the launch of the 2012 multi-channel campaign “The Sport of Fitness Has Arrived,” as well as the launch of the brand’s ground-breaking partnership with CrossFit. He also led the account team for Castrol, managing and leveraging the brand’s global motor sport assets.
Prior to joining M&C Saatchi Sport and Entertainment, Barker was part of the sports team at Four Communications, where he managed client accounts including Lloyds TSB’s partnership with London 2012, The Celtic Manor Resort (Ryder Cup venue 2010), Leisurecorp’s sponsorship of the European Tour and the Brawn GP Formula 1 Team.
