The first ever Hispanicize HX Atlanta event took place Friday night to open the 2nd annual Georgia Latino Film Festival in downtown Atlanta’s Georgia-Pacific Center.
Sponsored by PM Publicidad, Atlanta’s largest Hispanic marketing agency, and Hispanicize Wire, the event attracted filmmakers as well as a Who’s Who of regional Hispanic journalists, bloggers, music artists, brands and agencies.
HX Atlanta began with a TEDx-style talk by Hollywood filmmaker, director, writer and comedian Rick Najera.  Najera’s delivered a stand-up comic-style synopsis of his new book “Almost White,” an autobiographical tale of his journey as a filmmaker, which he signed and sold at the event. The night culminated with a musical performance by the multi-talented singer/songwriter and guitarist Seich.
Among the distinguished guests were legendary Mexican Director Felipe Casalz, OVNLatino’s Superstar Chef Raul, Georgia Latino Film Festival Founder Jose Marquez and Shooting Star Salesman’s director Kico Velarde.
