The professional development workshop, Demystifying the Hispanic PR Paradigm, has been added to the list of sessions at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) 2012 International Conference in San Francisco, Oct. 13-16.
The session will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 8–9:15 a.m. Spanish-language media is growing, thanks to an estimated 50 million Hispanics living in the U.S. This workshop will explore how to reach this critical demographic through targeted outreach that goes well beyond just providing information in Spanish.
In the session attendees will also delve into facts about Spanish-language and English Latino media. Gain an understanding of trends in Hispanic advertising and social media. Discuss corporate best practices and case studies in Latino public relations. Distinguish between different Hispanic generations for tailored messaging. Gain insight into the difference between Hispanic and Latino.
Moderator will be Carolina Echeverria, community and public affairs manager of the Bay Area’s leading Spanish-language television stations KDTV Univision 14 and KFSF TeleFutura 66 since November 2006. Panelists will include Salvador Acevedo, president of CONTEMPOR’e1NEA, a research and evaluation firm, and Carolina Guana, Multicultural Group Account Director Allison+Partners.
