Pitbull & Western Union Reinvent Miami Park for “World of Betters Event”
Miami native and global recording artist Pitbull joined The Western Union Company this week to build an outdoor, creative performance and playground space in Miami, Fl. during the Western Union® World of Betters event, one component of many that aligns under the company’s new worldwide brand platform, “Moving Money for Better.”
Local artists and performers joined Pitbull to reinvent the space, located at Henderson Park and give it a facelift. Pitbull’s Western Union World of Betters event was the last of five celebrity Better acts. Pitbull joins international recording artists Alicia Keys, Sunidhi Chauhan, K’naan, John Legend and Ayo to complete the Western Union World of Betters, a global contest which asked consumers how they would make the world a better place.
“It’s exciting that Western Union World of Betters created this great community center in Miami where everyone can perform and make music together,” says Pitbull. “Now my hometown fans will have a chance to express themselves, have fun and show the world what it is to be creative 305 style! Dale!!!”
Victoria López-Negrete, senior vice president and general manager, North America, Western Union, says, “The final Western Union World of Betters act has capped off a great worldwide program that launched Nov. 1 and demonstrated how Moving Money for Better to improve someone’s day, for the holidays and for any occasion can have an outstanding impact on a community.”
Throughout the Western Union World of Betters contest, Alicia Keys, Sunidhi Chauhan, K’naan, John Legend and Ayo joined forces to broaden the campaign’s reach. Consumers can view the live streamed event with Pitbull, as well as coverage of the other Better acts, at www.worldofbetters.com. The celebrity team also activated social media throughout the campaign to engage their global fan base.
Western Union World of Betters and Western Union® Singing Telegram, a new interactive online platform that allows consumers to create a personalized music video and virtual duet with international recording artists, recently launched as two programs of many that align under “Moving Money for Better” branding concepts, focused on Western Union® products and services as solutions to create ‘moments of better.’ While sustaining the company’s 160-year history of innovation and helping people improve lives, the new branding elements depict visual timelines that invite consumers to be a part of the worldwide campaign.
