Peter Dobrow has joined NBCUniversal’s mun2
as VP of Communications.
Dobrow joins the mun2 team as the network has been undergoing a transformation both in programming and personnel throughout 2014. He’ll be reporting to mun2 president Ruben Mendiola who joined the company in June.
In his new position, Dobrow will be working with Alfredo Richard, SVP, Corporate Communications at Hispanic Enterprises and Content, NBCUniversal. Their areas of focus include trade and consumer media trade relations, internal communications and corporate brand positioning.
Dobrow was previously employed by Comcast Corporation as executive director of Corporate Communications, where he worked on multicultural initiatives, Internet and digital offerings and the launch of XFINITY Latino, among other projects. Mendiola was previously employed by Comcast Cable, serving as SVP and GM of Multicultural Services.
“Peter brings a wealth of industry knowledge and strategic communications expertise to mun2,” Mendiola said in a statement. “As we enter this exciting time in our network’s history, and make the forward leaps to transform our brand and deliver a premium viewing experience, I’m pleased that Peter will be at the forefront of sharing our teams’ efforts with each one of our valued stakeholders.”
Dobrow’s first day on the job was Sept. 30, when he joined a press screening of Mexican singer Gloria Trevi’s new reality series A Toda Gloria at Soho House in West Hollywood. Mendiola was also present and personally greeted journalists, label executives and the network’s new star.
“Great things are happening at mun2, and there’s a lot more to come,” Dobrow said exclusively to Billboard through an e-mail. “I’m excited to join Ruben Mendiola’s team during this early stage of the network’s transformation.”
Before landing at Comcast in 2010, Dobrow was director of External Communications at T-Mobile USA, where he led public relations, multicultural communications and sports marketing communications, among other work. He was also previously employed by ConceptBlue Marketing Communications & Publicity as VP and managing partner.
Dobrow, who is based in Los Angeles, earned his bachelor’s degree in communications at Rutgers University.
