NUVOtv has unveiled its original programming slate — which includes four new series orders. This marks the channel’s biggest slate since its launch last year.
The Collective, debuting March 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, is a weekly series featuring DJs and celebrities, who share their personal picks of the week and share what’s trending in music, fashion, live events and viral videos. Nu Point of View: The Emerging Latino Filmmakers, kicking off March 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, is a quarterly film showcase hosted by Filly Brown‘s Gina Rodriguez. The series gives writers, producers and directors the chance to bring their projects to the national stage.
Both The Collective and Nu Point of View are produced by Jennifer Lopez‘s Nuyorican Productions. Lopez, who helped conceive the ideas, serves as the network’s chief creative officer.
Additionally, boxing competition reality series Knockout will premiere April 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The six-part series follows amateur boxers as they head to Las Vegas to train with the top names in boxing, including Ruben Guerrero, Floyd Mayweather Sr. and Don King, and leads up to a live fight at the end of the season.
From executive producer Mario Lopez, Love and Salsa is a new dating competition series where contestants must choose a partner with whom they have chemistry to do the same on the dance floor. The concept was inspired by Lopez’s real-life experience meeting his wife, Courtney Mazza, who will host. The series premieres May 6 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
Returning shows include the second season of acquired title Dexter, kicking off Feb. 24 with back-to-back episodes at 9 p.m. ET/PT; the return of Stand Up & Deliver: Cabo San Lucas, airing Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT; and Mario Lopez: One-on-One, back June 3.
