CHICAGO, IL – MillerCoors unveiled today the 12 Hispanic leaders who will be highlighted through a national advertising campaign as part of its 2009 Lideres program. The leaders were nominated by MillerCoors Hispanic non-profit partners and chosen for their unwavering commitment to the advancement of the Hispanic community. The 2009 Lideres will be featured print advertisements that will be placed in local and national Latino publications beginning in October and running throughout 2009 as well as the MillerCoors Lideres website.
“The 2009 Lideres are a diverse group of respected community leaders who serve as an inspiration and an example of what one person’s dedication can accomplish,” said Javier Soler, Regional Vice President & General Manager, MillerCoors. “MillerCoors is proud to highlight their achievements and to provide leadership tools that benefit national and local leaders within the Hispanic community.”
One of these leaders will be selected as the Lider of the Year through online voting on the MillerCoors Lideres website through November 20, 2009. The public is invited to go to the website and select their top candidate. The winner will receive a $25,000 grant to develop a community leadership project in concert with their non-profit organization and MillerCoors.

The chosen 2009 Lideres will be featured in the MillerCoors Lideres website at millercoorslideres.com.

Since 2006, Lideres has raised awareness and highlighted the achievements of a diverse group of respected national and local leaders within the Hispanic community. In past years the program has included a series of workshops held across the country where participants were able to network and explore themes related to leadership.
To be selected as a Lider, individuals must be of Hispanic descent between 21-39 years old and work with a nonprofit organization with a mission of supporting the Hispanic community.
