Mike Fernandez, veteran VP of public affairs for State Farm, has left to go to Cargill, where he will serve as corporate VP, corporate affairs, effective mid-September. Earlier this year Fernandez was a keynote speaker at the Hispanic PR & Social Media Conference.

He will be missed at State Farm. His innovations and great ideas will be something that will live on but it was also a great inspiration as a Latina to have someone with his experience and skill head such an important post and lead the way for Latino’s in our firm. He will continue to do so for the industry, but I guess it’s a bitter sweet for those of us who knew and worked with him up close!
