First episode of the free bilingual series launches on June 29th
Latinos Rumbo al College is a free webinar series developed in conjunction with non-profit organizations Latinos in College (LIC) and LULAC National Education Service Centers (LNESC) to help make the college process simple and attainable for Hispanic students and their parents.
The first of the bilingual webinars, titled “On the Track to College” will broadcast live from the LULAC National Convention in Orlando, Fla., on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. EDT. Webinar guest speakers include:
– Mariela Dabbah, award winning-author, and expert on education and career issues
– Luis Duran,$100,000 RMHC®/HACER® National Scholarship recipient, son of Salvadoran immigrants who just finished his junior year at Arizona State University where he is studying to become an architect.
The Latinos Rumbo al College series will continue in the fall with the following bilingual webinars:
– “Acing Scholarship Applications”– Wednesday, September 5th
– “Finding Mentors and Building a Support System”– Wednesday, October 3rd
– “Mastering the College Application Process” – Wednesday, November 7th
