Two members of the Florida Public Relations Association, Southwest Florida Chapter received annual honors at the chapter’s July luncheon.
Laura Puerto, APR was named “Unsung Hero,” a new award for the chapter that recognizes the many contributions of a member for dependably providing behind-the-scenes hard work and dedication to help enhance and promote the public relations profession. She is currently serving as the chapter secretary, has been hospitality chair at times, and has otherwise volunteered a tremendous amount of time over the last 10 years serving on the board of directors and helping wherever needed. Past honors have included the FPRA Rising Star in 2007 and Chapter Member of the Year in 2009. Ms. Puerto has served as the public relations specialist at Lee County Electric Cooperative (LCEC) for the past 10 years.
