KTDO Telemundo 48 surpassed all other television stations in El Paso in primetime and early fringe, regardless of language, among adults 18-49, according to the latest Nielsen survey.
KTDO was the #1 station in primetime (6-10pm), more than doubling its audience from the survey last February. The station led the closest competitor in the key 18-49 demographic by 32%. KTDO’s primetime dominance was driven by the hugely popular novela El Senor de Los Cielos at 9pm, which was the highest rated primetime program in the market. Additionally, primetime novelas Pasión Prohibida and La Patrona commanded more than 60% of the Spanish-language television audience.
KTDO led all stations in early fringe (3-5pm) with adults 18-49. Telemundo’s hit Court TV show Caso Cerrado was #1 in the market at 3pm while news magazine Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste tied for #1 among adults 18-34 at 4pm.
Telenoticias El Paso, KTDO’s local news, experienced significant audience increases as well. The audience for the 5pm newscast more than tripled and the late edition at 10pm increased 50% among adults 18-49.
KTDO was also the most watched Spanish-language station sign-on to sign-off (Monday to Sunday, 5am-2am) among adults 18-34 outperforming the Univision affiliate KINT by almost 30%.
“The latest results speak for themselves. KTDO is delivering the greatest value in the market for our clients and Telemundo’s programming clearly resonates with local viewers,” said Lorena Castaneda, KTDO Telemundo 48’s Station Manager. “We are extremely proud of our continued success and our commitment to serving the local community.”
