Telemundo Denver / KDEN today announced that Rosy Zugasti has been named Multimedia Journalist for Noticiero Telemundo Denver, which airs weekdays at 4:30 PM, 5 PM and 10 PM. Zugasti, who will make her on-air debut on January 19, joins News Anchors Pamela Padilla and Guillermo Martínez, Weather Anchor Ariel Rivera Vázquez, Sports Anchor Carlos Rausseo and an enterprising news team to help deliver the local news and up-to-the-minute information that affects Spanish-speaking viewers throughout Denver and the state of Colorado.
“Rosy has more than 10 years of experience reporting hard news and thrives on delivering the latest breaking news that our communities need to stay informed,” said Pedro Calderon Michel. “We’re very excited that Rosy is part of the Telemundo Denver family and look forward to continuing to deliver the best-in-class journalism that our viewers deserve.”
“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to report and be a voice for the communities that Telemundo Denver serves,” said Zugasti. “My duty, as a journalist, is to help our viewers have a voice and to report the stories that matter most to them.”
Zugasti joins Telemundo Denver from Univision El Paso / KINT, where she worked as a multimedia journalist, fill-in news and weather anchor and producer since 2011. Prior to this, Zugasti worked at the local Televisa station located in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico from 2008 to 2011. Zugasti has also worked as a news anchor and reporter for local television stations located in Mexico, including Cablenoticias and Epicentro Noticias. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Texas.
Thanks to a significant investment made by NBCUniversal in all of its Telemundo stations, Telemundo Denver launched a new weekday half-hour local newscast at 4:30 PM MT in 2014; hired newsroom staff to support the boost in local news; rolled out new on-screen graphics and visual designs and launched newly revamped digital platforms to help viewers stay ahead of the news. In 2015, Telemundo Denver moved to a new 6,500 square-foot state-of-the-art news facility located in Centennial, Colorado – the Comcast Media Center – that features the latest technologies and enhancements to help the station remain competitive in its market.
