PLANO, Texas – JCPenney honored three Hispanic high school graduates for their educational excellence, each with a $15,000 college scholarship during Univision’s 6th annual Premios Juventud awards show, held last Thursday, July 16, 2009.

Mexican-American Blanca “Jenny” Quezada, from Mesa, AZ, was recognized for her Athletic Sportsmanship; Carlos Rios of Puerto Rico was honored within the Arts; and Mexican-American Jovani Díaz of Houston, TX, received the highest honors in Academic Excellence. JCPenney helped provide a memorable experience, which included a makeover day at the JCPenney store at Dadeland in Miami, complete with beauty services and a red-carpet look from JCPenney’s Back to School styles. This year JCPenney offers a great range of original and new brands for teens.

The scholarship winners were also on Univision’s Despierta América the following morning, sharing their unique stories, future goals and unforgettable experiences courtesy of JCPenney.
