Hispanicize host honored by South Florida lifestyle magazine as ‘mover and shaker’ shaping the community
Andrea Ocampo-Haley, the official broadcast host of Hispanicize, is recognized in the January 2014 issue of Boca Life Magazine for its annual ’40 Under 40’ awards. Each year the publication names the top 40 people under the age of 40 who are making a significant difference in and around South Florida.
“I’m honored and humbled to be recognized by Boca Life alongside such impressive professionals in South Florida”
Ocampo-Haley earned a place among the area’s most influential young professionals for her growing role in the South Florida broadcast and entertainment arenas. This hockey season marked the second year as the official In-Arena Host of the NHL Florida Panthers, for the rising, Colombian-born broadcast journalist. In addition to the Panthers, Ocampo-Haley is co-anchor of Inside The Orange Bowl, a sports newscast covering ACC football; airing on FOX Sports and CBS 4 WFOR-TV. “I’m honored and humbled to be recognized by Boca Life alongside such impressive professionals in South Florida,” Ocampo-Haley states. “Being able to play an active part in the South Florida community through my work, is something I am so grateful for.” Andrea got her start as a Miami Dolphins Cheerleader while attending the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale for broadcast journalism. After graduating, Andrea went on to work with AOL News’ FanHouse TV, Kellogg’s, Dive Travel TV, RumBum, Miami Fashion Week, CTV24, and TeleAmerica, among others. Andrea hosted Hispanicize 2012 and 2013, covering the event and interviewing key influencers featured each year. Andrea also pursues acting on the side. You may have seen her in a number of commercials, short films, and pilots she’s starred in over the years. Currently, she can be seen in a nationally airing KFC Dip’ems commercial. In addition, Andrea is an avid blogger via Media Gypsy (http://www.media-gypsy.com), a lifestyle, fashion and entertainment blog she launched last year.
