The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) is excited to have Marcus Buckingham, author of the best-selling management books First, Break All the Rules and Now, Discover Your Strengths, speak at this year’s Annual Conference and Career Expo in Anaheim, CA. In the Opening Session on Friday, October 14, Mr. Buckingham will expand upon the topic: “The Difference between Great Managing and Great Leading.”

Leadership continues to be a hot topic in the business world, and Marcus Buckingham has been instrumental in redefining ways to help organizations excel. When people who have been successful as managers think of their next step, they often think of leadership. Based on years of research with the Gallup Organization, Buckingham will present compelling evidence that, in certain circumstances, great leaders must do exactly the opposite of what great managers do in order to succeed.

“As a leader and manager of a growing organization, I believe that it is important to be open to different ideas on how to lead effectively,” says Manny Gonzalez, CEO of NSHMBA. “We are very pleased to have Marcus Buckingham speak at this year’s Conference.  I am confident that the audience will take away some thought-provoking concepts that will help them become better leaders of tomorrow.”

The Annual NSHMBA Conference and Career Expo is designed to help talented Hispanic students, professionals, executives and entrepreneurs attain positions where their skills and talents are not only sought but are essential to business growth. 2011 marks the Conference’s twenty-second year and will be held at the convention center in Anaheim, CA from Thursday, October 13 to Saturday, October 15.
