Hector Galvan, head of Hispanic corporate communications for Sprint since 2010, suddenly passed away this morning after a brief battle with cancer, his family reported.  Galvan has been with Sprint in one capacity or another since 2004.

We will report more information as it is provided to us.

Feb. 2 UPDATE: Galvan’s family posted a new message clarifying that “Cancer did not take husband, dad and grandpa Hector, he fought hard but ultimately passed away of heart failure and other complications.”  Funeral arrangements are underway.

  1. A big loss to our profession and our community. Hector was a passionate advocate for Hispanic issues who helped build a new boys and girls club in East LA and was determined to create a Latino youth big band. He made a major contribution on many levels in his short life. We’ll miss you big guy.
