Washington-based journalist, Hazel Trice Edney, has announced she is establishing a wire service that will cover news about and of interest to African-American audiences. To launch the venture, the award-winning editor and reporter recently resigned her position as editor-in-chief of the National Newspaper Publishers Association News Services where she had served for the past 10 years.

The Trice Edney News Wire will have its official debut on Nov. 19, and will be inaugurated with an event at the National Press Club, 529 14th Street, NW, Washington, DC at 6:00 – 8:30PM.

“After 25 years of writing for the Black Press, I see this new venture as a heightened venue from which to forge change for the social, educational, economic, political and spiritual lives of Black people.”
