Grupo Gallegos logo (MarketWired). Grupo Gallegos was recognized as the Best Independent U.S. Hispanic Agency at the 2014 El Ojo de Iberoamérica festival of creativity. The festival, held November 19-21st in Buenos Aires, Argentina, celebrates the best in advertising in the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking world. Grupo Gallegos was recognized for its work in the U.S. Hispanic Market. This year marks the second year in a row that Grupo Gallegos was designated the Best Independent U.S. Hispanic Agency and the agency also had its most highly-awarded year at El Ojo to date. The awards were received in a broad range of categories, including TV, Out-of-Home, Mail, Graphic Production, Audiovisual Production and Graphic for work for the California Milk Processor Board and the Alzheimer’s Association, California Southland Chapter. Grupo Gallegos was awarded the Gold Prize in TV and Audiovisual Production for “Brave,” a commercial for the California Milk Processor Board. “Brave” is part of a new advertising campaign that highlights how a person’s future self is determined by nutritional choices he or she makes today, starting with milk. In the commercial, the audience watches as a fireman thinks back to a glass of milk and a conversation with his mother that led him to become the strong, directed person he is today. The agency also received several honors in the Out-of-Home, Mail and Graphic categories for work for the Alzheimer’s Association, California Southland Chapter. The executions “Daughter” and “Grandson” are both part of the “Alzheimer’s Gallery” campaign, an awareness-focused effort that dramatized a visual symbol of the tragic impact of Alzheimer’s by placing the viewer in the shoes of someone suffering from the disease. The campaign featured large-scale portraits that are distorted, hazy, and heartbreaking tributes to the loved ones of those with Alzheimer’s. “Creativity has always been a key focus for Grupo Gallegos and 2014 has been one of our most awarded years yet,” shared Marty Orzio, Chief Creative Officer at Grupo Gallegos. “We set the bar for excellence with the California Milk Processor Board and the Alzheimer’s Association, who are two of our most recognized clients. The work is creative and emotionally powerful, something that we believe is necessary for work to be effective. It’s gratifying to be recognized for what we value most.” In total, Grupo Gallegos received 18 awards at the El Ojo festival, including 6 Gold, 8 Silver and 4 Bronze. Across the near 10-year relationship, Grupo Gallegos and the California Milk Processor Board have garnered over 50 awards for creativity and effectiveness.
