Goya Foods, donates over 40,000 pounds of food to the Hispanic Federation and helps to collect over 8,000 toys for the Hispanic Federation’s annual “A Christmas Miracle” Toy Drive.  The food donation aided victims of Hurricane Sandy throughout New York including Staten Island, Far Rockaway in Queens and Long Beach in Nassau County during the holiday season.  Toys have been distributed among 23 agencies throughout NY, NJ, CT, and PA and over 2,500 toys will be distributed to more than 1,000 children and families to celebrate Three Kings Day on Sunday, January 6 at the Society of Educational Arts on 107 Suffolk Street from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Goya Foods will participate in the enactment of the three kings and provide snacks and drinks to the children and their families.  The festivities will also include LIVE music and dance performances.  The Christian holiday, also known as Twelfth Night or Feast of the Epiphany, ends the 12 days of Christmas. Many Hispanic communities in the United States and other cultures around the world celebrate Three Kings Day with parades and performances depicting the Biblical story of three kings following a star to find baby Jesus while bringing gifts of frankincense, gold and myrrh.
