Glamour today announces the launch of Glam Belleza Latina, a new title under the Glamour umbrella, targeting the next generation in beauty for Latina women. Under Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive’s direction, Glam Belleza Latina has Veronica Chambers as its editor, overseeing the content and voice of the magazine, with Art Director Sarah Vinas creating its bold, polished aesthetic. Artist-in-Residence Ruben Toledo created original illustrations, including a watercolor iteration of the logo.
“We are thrilled to expand the Glamour brand with Glam Belleza Latina,” says Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive. “Our readers are beauty-obsessed, and Latina millennials are such a large part of our readership, making this a natural evolution for us. I’m so proud of the authentic, sophisticated, aspirational magazine that Veronica and Sarah have created. We can’t wait to hear what readers think!”
The magazine celebrates Latina culture and its passion for beauty. Its pages cover everything from fragrance and skin care to jet-setter beauty tricks. The text weaves English (90 percent) and Spanish (10 percent) together to mirror the voice of today’s young Latina.
In cover star Jennifer Lopez’s exclusive interview with Chambers, she opened up about life, love and the diverse beauty found in the Hispanic culture. “Latin beauty is the rainbow,” Lopez told Glam Belleza Latina. “We have black, we have white, we have caramel. We have blonds, we have blue eyes, we have brown eyes, we have the darkest of the dark skin. Latin beauty is for everybody.” Editorial highlights from Glam Belleza Latina’s contributors in the premiere issue include Natalie Morales’ inspiration board, a love letter to Latina women from designer Narciso Rodriguez, Hilaria Thomas Baldwin’s tips for balancing wellness and beauty, celeb makeup artist Leslie Lopez’s guide to getting glam, Lynda Lopez’s column “Real Beauty Is…” about discovering your superpowers and Artist-in-Residence Isabel Toledo’s secrets to finding your own true style.
Glamour reaches 1.3 million Hispanic women. Hispanic millennials make up 19 percent of the millennial population—Glamour’s target reader—and will account for more than 80 percent of the growth in the millennial population over the next few years. There are 51 million Hispanics in the United States (16 percent of the total population). This number has grown 40 percent over the past 10 years—and is estimated to reach 66 million by 2020. This audience contributes $1.2 trillion in buying power.
Glam Belleza Latina is digest size, 6.75″ x 9.125″, and will be published quarterly and poly-bagged with Glamour for opted-in Hispanic subscribers, starting with the April issue.
