Rodner Figueroa, correspondent for the entertainment news and gossip show “El Gordo y La Flaca” (The Scoop and the Skinny), took home a Daytime Emmy® Award  in the category of Outstanding Daytime Talent in a Spanish Language Program. The 2014 Daytime Emmy® Awards were presented last night at a gala event in Beverly Hills, California.

Created by Univision in 1998, “El Gordo y La Flaca” is a one-hour show that airs Monday through Friday, informing Hispanic America about everything that’s happening in the entertainment world. As the program’s official fashion correspondent, Figueroa, a celebrated fashionista, keeps tabs on what today’s hottest celebrities are wearing, as well as offers fashion advice to viewers. Additionally, he is also the co-host of “Sal y Pimienta” (Salt and Pepper), a Sunday night entertainment news show also airing on the Univision Network.

“We are extremely proud of Rodner who has been recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with this  Daytime Emmy® Award on the first year that three new Spanish-language programming categories were added to the competition,” said Alberto Ciurana, President of Programming and Content for UCI. “This honor is a testament to his hard work, professionalism and level of commitment to deliver world-class entertainment to Spanish-speaking audiences across the nation. Congratulations to Rodner for this important accomplishment.”
