On July 1, at 1:15pm Racing 4 Education (RFE), NASCAR Nationwide Racing Team will introduce the RFE Racing Team and the mission of the RFE initiative at the Press Conference Room at Daytona International Speedway.
Through a partnership with Diversity Motor Sports Racing, LLC CEO Terrance Alton Cox III and the Mary McLeod Bethune Legacy Preservation Institute, Inc., Racing 4 Education includes experts in the fields of Education, Diversity and the motorsports industry aligned with seasoned racer and engineer Bob Schacht. We are delighted that Mike Bliss will drive the #19 Racing 4 Education signature race car in our inaugural season in NASCAR’s Nationwide Series.
Racing 4 Education’s initiative begins with a focus on the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and all higher learning schools with the intention of expanding our support to provide quality education without regard to race, creed, color, nationality, religion or any other demographic sector.
Additionally RFE will introduce our first Rising Star Program recipient 11 year-old Matt Murphy IV, a junior Racecar driver and future Racing 4 Education driver. Matt began racing dragsters at the age of six under the tutelage of his grandfather Clarence “Mr. C” Millner, a former winner in the modified 470 stock car division. Matt provides the inspiration and motivation that our youth between the ages of 7 and 15 need to see how their futures can unfold and prosper through completing school and going on to college.
