CHICAGO, IL – Degree Men, official partner of the Mexican National Team, along with Legendary Mexican National Team soccer star and co-host of Univision’s sports program República Deportiva, Félix Fernández presented the Mexican National Team this week with a 90 foot by 150 foot, green, white and red flag with more than 175,000 signatures from fans across the country.
The flag, presented during the Mexico vs. Angola halftime program at Reliant Stadium in Houston, is a symbol of well-wishes from the fans as the team heads to the world’s largest soccer tournament in South Africa.
“Flags are a huge part of the passionate soccer culture amongst the Mexican fans, and having presented this tri-colored flag at the Mexico vs. Angola game was a huge honor for Degree Men,” said Jay Mathew, marketing director for Degree Men. “This symbolic flag will be traveling with the Mexican National Team as a reminder that they have Degree Men’s support and well-wishes from their die-hard ‘El Tri’ fans in the United States.”
The massive flag began its journey in Los Angeles at the Cinco de Mayo Festival on Sunday, May 2 and continued touring the country with the Mexican National Team as they faced off Ecuador, Senegal and Angola, in New York, Chicago and Houston, respectively. Fans were offered the opportunity to sign the flag at the Degree Men’s Futbolote at Futbol Fiesta, a free interactive fan zone which took place four hours prior to the team’s friendly matches. In addition, fans were also given the opportunity meet and greet current Mexican National Team players Ramon Morales, Fausto Pinto and Jesus Corona at a Degree Men Pep Rally, along with Felix Fernandez who was also present at Futbol Fiesta.
