Austin-based marketing and communications agency Cultural Strategies is launching the Revolucionario Awards and partnering with SXSW and Hispanicize to create a Social Revolución day this year at SXSW.

This year’s Revolucionario Awards will be presented in three categories: The New Americano, The Mobilizer and the Innovator.

Organizer Mando Rayo of Cultural Strategies says the purpose of the awards is to bring more recognition to the work of Latinos using social media.

“We’re looking for Latinos who are using social media in new and creative ways to drive change,” said Rayo. ”For us it’s not so much about how many fans you have as much as it is if you’re doing something to change things up.”
