The Clorox Company and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) announced the twelve recipients of the Clorox Suena Sin Limites (‘Dream Without Limits’) scholarship program, aimed at supporting college-bound Hispanic high schoolers and Hispanic moms. From the nearly 5,000 applications received, six mothers and six high school seniors will be awarded a $10,000 scholarship each to attend an accredited U.S. university during the 2013-2014 school year. Aspiring students were asked to submit an essay detailing their academic goals and how a scholarship would enable them to make their biggest dreams a reality and in turn give back to their family and community.
“At Clorox we recognize the importance of dreaming big and pursuing a higher education degree as the key to a brighter future,” said Robin M. Santos, PR Manager at The Clorox Company. “Along with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, we are proud to be able to have a positive impact in the personal and professional lives of six remarkable Hispanic high school seniors and six deserving Hispanic mothers through our Suena Sin Limites scholarships.”
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund was pleased to collaborate with Clorox to bring to life this first-time-ever partnership targeting U.S. Hispanic moms, in addition to high school seniors.

Television host Galilea Montijo gave a special recognition to the scholarship winners on May 4, 2013 at the Univision’s Familia y Hogar Expo in Miami.
“I am excited to learn about the stories of the Hispanic moms and students who have been selected to receive the Clorox Suena Sin Limites scholarships,” said Galilea Montijo. “As a dreamer, a mother and a scholarship recipient, I feel a personal connection to the Clorox initiative and truly believe that it is never too late for Latina moms to pursue a higher education in search of a better future for themselves and their children.”
The twelve recipients of the $10,000 Suena Sin Limites scholarships, selected based on HSF’s general eligibility criteria and the quality of their essay, are:
