NEW YORK, NY – Claudia Norman Management, producers of the acclaimed Celebrate Mexico Now festival, has tapped New York Hispanic marketing agency REVOLUCION to provide public relations services for this fall’s celebration of contemporary Mexican culture across New York City.
The agency will provide bilingual media relations services for the festival, which embarks on its 7th year of showcasing the vanguard of Mexican performance, visual art and cuisine. Together with Rock Paper Scissors and Diana Vargas PR, the trio of communications firms will collaborate for the first time to deliver a fresh approach to the festival’s promotional strategies.
“REVOLUCION has a reputation for outstanding communications work,” says Claudia Norman, the festival’s producing director. “We’ve had great success in the past with the festival’s promotion, and this year we want to bolster our efforts even further by enlisting a Hispanic agency partner.”
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 12% of New York City’s Hispanic population is Mexican, representing nearly 300,000 people. It is the fastest-growing Latino population in the city, with a marked jump of 58% from 2000 to 2007. Hailing from Mexico City herself, Ms. Norman launched the festival in 2004 to bring the two neighbor nations and its people closer together through cultural exchange.
Celebrate Mexico Now runs from September 16–30, 2010 and will feature cutting-edge musicians, authors, films and more at partner venues as varied as Lincoln Center, Joe’s Pub, Symphony Space and the Highline Ballroom, among others. The full performance lineup will be announced in August.
