ZGS Communications announced today the appointment of Carlos San José to the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager of WTMO Telemundo Orlando. San José will oversee all aspects of the station, including sales, news, marketing, online initiatives and community outreach. San José will report to Ronald J. Gordon, CEO of ZGS Communications.

“We are very excited to have someone with Carlos’ experience, energy and successful track record in a market like Orlando,” commented Gordon.  “WTMO is performing extremely well, and we look forward to growing the station and continuing to serve the Hispanic community in Central Florida under his leadership.”

WTMO is the #1 Spanish-language station in primetime among adults 18-34, and the station’s local news, Telenoticias Orlando, is #1 at 11 p.m. in key demos.

San José brings over three decades of experience to Telemundo Orlando in sales, management and brand leadership in the U.S. Hispanic market. Before joining ZGS Communications, San José served as Senior  Vice President and General Manager of Univision Television Group’s Chicago stations WGBO and WXFT, as well as the Vice President of National Hispanic Sales at Citadel Media, previously ABC Radio Networks.  San José also held positions at Univision Chicago (WOJO), NBC Miami (WTVJ) and Univision Miami (WLTV), where he was integral in the development and launch of Sábado Gigante.  San José started his career in radio at WINZ/WLYF/WHTT in Miami and studied at Florida International University.
