On September 16, Camino Public Relations was honored by PR News at the Platinum PR and Top Places to Work in PR Awards Luncheon at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. Camino received honorable mentions in two categories for “Multicultural Campaign” and “On a Shoestring Campaign” — for its work elevating Latina voices in the media.

“We’re honored to work with this incredible organization and be a part of its efforts to improve the national conversation about Latina health and immigration,” said Camino President Elizabeth Toledo. ” We thank PRNews for recognizing this important work and salute the Latinas speaking out across the nation for dignity, justice and health for all.”

Camino was recognized for assisting the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health (NLIRH) to shift the coverage, tone and content of Latina experiences represented in the media. In about a year’s time, NLIRH reached a potential media audience of 319 million with media coverage in 256 media outlets, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, MSNBC, Univision, CNN, PBS, NPR, Agencia EFE and Associated Press.

“Camino Public Relations knows our national conversations are stronger and richer when everyone has a seat at the table,” said Camino Chief Operating and Development Officer Susanna Minegishi. “That’s why Camino specializes in developing strategic multicultural communications campaigns and making sure underrepresented voices get heard.”
