Balsera Communications, a  U.S. Hispanic public affairs and public relations agency, took home the top prize of PRWeek’s Multicultural Campaign of the Year for its innovative work with the National Hispanic Landscape Alliance (NHLA). Winners were announced during PRWeek’s annual awards ceremony in New York City on March 20, 2014.

When proposed government regulations threatened the livelihoods of landscape company owners and workers, many of whom are Hispanic, Balsera helped concerned advocates create the non-profit National Hispanic Landscape Alliance. By initiating dialogue between industry leaders and policy makers, while also harnessing the voice of the Hispanic landscaping workforce, Balsera and the NHLA were able to generate national coverage and, more importantly, drive change in Washington.
