Contributions of Latinos in America addressed at event attended by President Obama and Justice Sonia Sotomayor

The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) President & CEO Javier Palomarez, spoke on a  panel moderated by Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month last week.

Hosted by Secretary Ken Salazar, Department of the Interior, the White House Forum focused on several topics including, “Recognizing the Contributions of the American Latino in the American Economy.”

Joined by business and civic leaders, Palomarez, a leading advocate for Hispanic enterprise in the U.S., highlighted the significant contribution American Latinos are making to the economy, job creation and innovation.

“Hispanic Business Enterprise contributes $420 billion directly to the economy each year, while creating jobs in communities where it’s most needed,” said Palomarez.

In addition to business and civic leaders, historians and artists, the White House Forum was attended by top government officials including Secretaries Salazar, Shineski, Solis, Senator Robert Menendez, Justice Sonia Sotomayor and President Obama.
