Cuban-Canadian neo-soul artist Alex Cuba has been nominated for a GRAMMY for “Best Latin Pop Album” for Healer. He is the only independent artist to receive a Grammy Nomination in the Latin Pop category. This Marks Alex Cuba’s second GRAMMY nomination, and continues the peer recognition of his album, which won this year’s Latin Grammy Award for Best Singer-Songwriter Album. Alex Cuba, who is bilingual, identifies as being Afro-Latino, Cuban, and Canadian, and his sound is said to be inspired by neo-soul, jazz, and Latin rock.
