Albertsons Adds Spice to Hispanic Heritage Month by Hosting Celebrity Chef Gina Pacheco
Lucky radio listeners will partner with Celebrity Radio DJ at Cook-Off competition finale
FULLERTON, CA – In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Albertsons is hosting Latina celebrity Chef Gina Pacheco at five of their Southern California store locations where she will demonstrate her Latin American inspired recipes such as “Medallones de Filete de Res con Mantequilla de Cilantro, y Chipotle” (Beef Medallions with Chipotle and Cilantro Butter) as well as share some of her expert cooking secrets with consumers. Her bilingual cooking demonstrations will be held at the following Albertsons locations:
– Saturday, Sept. 26th 920 N Ventura Rd. Oxnard, CA
– Sunday, Sept. 27th 1520 Brundage Lane Bakersfield, CA
– Saturday, October 10th 13003 Whittier Blvd. Whittier, CA
– Sunday, October 11th 1000 N Mountain Ave. Ontario, CA
– Saturday, Oct. 17th 1000 N Azusa Ave. Covina, CA
Albertsons will conclude the celebration with a two-hour celebrity cook-off featuring KBUE radio personality “Don Cheto” and “La Socia” set for Sunday, October 18 at the Downey Albertsons, 7676 Firestone Blvd. Food aficionados are invited to join the cook-off team by faxing/emailing their favorite recipe that includes Albertsons products. Before the October 18th cook-off, “Don Cheto and La Socia” will each announce the names of the lucky contestants, live on their radio show, who will join them as they compete to create the best tasting recipe. Prizes will be awarded on site to the participants.
Albertsons “Best Recipe/DJ Cook-Off” contest
Albertsons “Best Recipe/DJ Cook-Off” contest is open to U.S. legal residents residing in California 18 years of age or older. For 2 weeks leading up to the cook-off contest, La Que Buena listeners (KBUE-FM), can join popular Spanish radio DJ’s “Don Cheto or La Socia’s” cook-off team by faxing/emailing their favorite recipe using products sold/available at Albertsons. Recipes submitted should incorporate ingredients and/or flavors celebrating Latin American heritage. To ensure consistency, recipes must include at least one Albertsons’ own-brand product and a minimum of three (3) other ingredients (not including water, salt and pepper). Contestants must supply the name of the recipe, cooking ingredients, cooking time, unique elements and authentic ingredients used. Of the entries submitted – only two contestants will be selected to join the live cook-off on October 18th at the Albertsons store in Downey.
