Represented by SESAC Latina in the United States and Puerto Rico, the composition “6 AM” by the breakout Colombian artist J Balvin has won the 2015 Premio Lo Nuestro in the urban category: Song of the Year and Collaboration of the Year.
These awards recognize the success of this song which J Balvin recorded with his guest artist Farruko, and took all the way to No. 1 in 2014.
The overwhelming success of “6 AM” also helped J Balvin triumph in two other Premio Lo Nuestrocategories: Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for La Familia.
The 2015 Premio Lo Nuestro ceremony featured a moving live performance from Latin Grammy® winner Gaby Moreno with Ricardo Arjona and the celebrated Regional Mexican group Calibre 50. In addition, Latin superstar Juanes performed “Juntos,” his new song from the Disney movie McFarland USA. “Juntos” was co-written by Descemer Bueno and by Colombian artist/hit songwriter and SESAC Latina affiliate Fonseca.
Produced and televised internationally by Univisión, this gala ceremony took place February 19 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.
