Running for a Cause: Calle Ocho Live Partners with TeamFootworks for National Hispanic Heritage Month Virtual 8K Run

MIAMI, FL – September 30, 2020 – (LATINX NEWSWIRE) – Organizers of Calle Ocho Live, the virtual stand-in for the nation’s largest and most iconic Latin music festival, today announced that the Oct. 4th National Hispanic Heritage Month event is partnering with TeamFootworks for the Calle Ocho Virtual 8K Run.

Proceeds from the virtual run will benefit the Kiwanis of Little Havana charity that annually serves 10,000 disadvantaged families with revenues from the festival but that this year was canceled because of Covid-19.

Team Footworks produces the prestigious Mercedes Benz 5K Corporate Run, and is one of the most respected race organizers in the United States.

“We’re delighted because Team Footworks is the gold standard in race productions and we couldn’t think of a more natural partner to co-produce this Hispanic Heritage Month-themed race that ultimately benefits families,” said Jorge Fernandez, president of the Kiwanis of Little Havana/Carnaval Miami.

Race Details

Registration for the virtual 8K opened on September 30th, and will continue through October 28th. Entry fees are $35 for a dry fit t-shirt, or $38 for a dry fit t-shirt with an accompanying medal. Once registered, runners will be able to plan their run to take place between October 15th and 31st. Runners can register for the race at http://bit.ly/CalleOcho8K, which is being powered by Haku. The virtual race is being executive produced by Angela Sustaita-Ruiz of RetroPop Media.

The virtual 8K run is part of the largest virtual Hispanic Heritage Month music extravaganza this year.
