BREAKING NEWS: HPRA Bestows Highest PR Honors on PRSA Chair-Elect Rosanna Fiske and General Mills

The Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA) has chosen Rosanna Fiske, the first Hispanic CEO and Chair-Elect of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) as this year’s PRemio Awards Public Relations Professional of the Year.   HPRA selected General Mills as the 2010 Corporation of the Year.

Fiske, a graduate coordinator and associate professor of advertising and public relations at Florida International University in Miami, has taken a lead role in bringing PRSA into a closer national relationship with HPRA and was a keynote speaker at this year’s first annual Hispanic PR & Social Media Conference.  General Mills has played an increasingly visible role in building close relationships with Hispanic bloggers as part of its QueRicaVida.com initiative.

HPRA has recognized Silvia Ichar, Publisher/Editor of PARA TODOS Magazine as the Journalist of the Year.  The Young PR Professional honor went to Alfredo Lee Escudero of VPE Public Relations.

HPRA will be honoring these leaders as well as the Campaign of the Year winners (to be announced at the event) at the 26th Annual HPRA PRemio Awards &  Scholarship Gala Dinner to be held Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Millennium Biltmore in Los Angeles, CA.  To learn more about the event go to www.HPRA-USA.org.
