Al Aguilar, Creative Civilization Chairman and CEO will receive the national 2012 Hispanic Marketing Achievement Award, to be presented at the 16th Annual Hispanic Marketing Midwest Conference in Minneapolis, Minn. on July 19, 2012. The award is presented annually to a leader who exemplifies extraordinary vision and commitment to the profession through creative strategies and new perspectives that advance the Hispanic marketing industry.
Nationally known as a pioneer of Hispanic marketing, Aguilar has been at the forefront of leading marketing for many of America’s largest brands. He is also responsible for leading the next generation of Hispanic marketers gaining responsibility for total market solutions. His agency, Creative Civilization, has been at the forefront of this evolution.
As the head of Creative Civilization, Aguilar was selected by his peers to be recognized for his accomplishments throughout the years and his continued contributions to strengthening the industry. Aguilar’s distinctive career began at an early age when he became inspired by advertising legend David Ogilvy and his “Confessions of an Adman.” Aguilar pursued his advertising education at the University of Texas at Austin, and embarked on his career which led him to become part of the first-ever Hispanic marketing department for Coca-Cola USA, and eventually a principal of Sosa, Bromley, Aguilar & Associates, the largest Hispanic advertising agency in the United States.
