If you have a ‘nose for news’, enjoy meaningful work, and you are proficient in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish, Carter BloodCare might be the place for you. Reporting to the Director of Public Relations, the Manager is responsbile for researching and distributing press releases and other routine communications to members of the news media; generating ideas for news feature stories; serving as organizational spokesperson when needed; representing CBC at various events and functions; and maintaining a working knowledge of blood banking and organizational issues. The position also serves as primary contact and spokesperson for Spanish-language media requests. The ideal candidate is resourceful, innovative, and is willing to learn subject matter that updates frequently and is of a complex and exciting nature.
Qualified candidates must possess BA, BS or related degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Radio/TV/Film, Marketing, English or related field. Ability to read, write and speak Spanish proficiently is required. Five to seven years of related experience preferred.
